Magic Kingdom is one of four theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort located near Orlando, Florida. The first park built at the resort, Magic Kingdom opened October 1, 1971. Designed and built by WED Enterprises, the park’s layout and attractions are similar to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. In 2009, the park saw an estimated 17.2 million visitors, making it the most visited theme park in the world.
Tour both the Adventureland Bazaar and the Retired Tropical Imports Shops. This Disneyland video is from around 2003. The Tropical Imports shop used to sell you rubber snakes and shrunken and life size human skulls. It was a little macabre, but it fit into Adventureland of yesterday. I bought a life size glow in the dark skull when i was like, 10 (1985ish) man, those were the days.

Disneyland Opening Day in color @ Disneyland Main Street Cinema RARE NEW Disneyland Park was opened to the public on July 18, 1955 with only 20 attractions. A special “International Press Preview” event was held on Sunday, July 17, 1955, which was only open to invited guests and the media. The Special Sunday events, including the dedication, were televised nationwide and anchored by three of Walt Disney’s friends from Hollywood: Art Linkletter, Bob Cummings, and Ronald Reagan. ABC broadcast the event live on its network. The event did not go smoothly. The park was overcrowded as the by-invitation-only affair was plagued with counterfeit tickets. Only 11000 people were expected to show up, but a staggering 28154 was the eventual population. Movie stars and other famous figures scheduled to come every two hours showed up all at once. All major roads nearby were empty. The temperature was an unusually high 101 °F (38 °C), and a plumbers’ strike left many of the park’s drinking fountains dry. Disney was given a choice of having working fountains or running toilets and he chose the latter. This generated negative publicity since Pepsi sponsored the park’s opening; disappointed guests believed the inoperable fountains were a cynical way to sell soda. The asphalt that had been poured just that morning was so soft that ladies’ high-heeled shoes sank into it. Vendors ran out of food. A gas leak in Fantasyland caused Adventureland, Frontierland, and Fantasyland to close for the …
The attraction takes 87 guests at a time on a s… Added: November 20, 2007 The attraction takes 87 guests at a time on a simulated hang glider tour of the Golden State, flying over San Francisco, Redwood Creek, Napa Valley, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Palm Springs (actually shot in nearby La Quinta over the golf course at PGA West), Camarillo, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego, Malibu and Los Angeles. The ride ends with a flight over Disneyland at Christmas, with a Christmas parade traveling down Main Street, USA, decorations on Sleeping Beauty Castle, and fireworks. Ride design: The vehicle (called a carriage) consists of three rows of seats under a wing-like canopy. After guests have been safely restrained in the vehicle, the canopy descends and a cantilever system lifts the chairs forward and into the air with the guests’ feet dangling free. The vehicle is lifted into a huge IMAX dome movie screen onto which scenes of California are projected. Since the vehicle is moved forward into the dome, the effect is such that guests can only see the images projected on the screen and are given the sensation of flight. To enhance the illusion of flight, subtle vertical movements of the seats are synchronized to the film. According to cast members who operate this attraction, the carriages do not move horizontally. Sensations of horizontally are created via a combination of vertical carriage movement and the turning image on the screen. In addition …
view construction updates, and an inside look at the plans and the attraction model. The attraction will be set underwater. At Disney California Adventure, the building is modeled after a 20th-century aquarium. The Palace of Fine Arts replica from Golden Dreams will remain but redecorated with an Ariel statue on top.[9] A garden and water play area is planned to accompany the ride; it will be located next to the show building. In the Magic Kingdom, the building will be featured in a recreation of Prince Eric’s castle. Guests will walk across a bridge over a pond that resembles a beach with the castle on it. A statue of Ariel doing the famous pose in Part of Your World (reprise) will be featured on the left of the bridge. To the left of the attraction is an entrance labeled “Ariel’s Grotto”, suggesting that the meet-and-greet with Ariel will be moved closer to the attraction. [edit]Ride The attraction will be a dark ride, similar to Peter Pan’s Flight and Snow White’s Scary Adventures, but it will have an Omnimover ride system like the one currently in use at the Haunted Mansion. The ride will transport guests under the sea and will focus on many of the major scenes and musical numbers from the movie. Guests will ride in cars themed to resemble large seashells; one car designed for use by wheelchair guests will be themed to resemble Triton’s chariot. Characters will include Ariel, Prince Eric, King Triton, Sebastian, Flounder, and Ursula.[10] Scuttle will narrate the story …
Since 1997, Disneyland has featured “it’s a small world – happy holiday” during the end-of-the-year Christmas and holiday season. The attraction is closed in late-October to receive temporary holiday decorations inside and outside, and reopens in early-November before the start of the busy holiday tourist season. The overlay has proved very popular and at one point during its run needed the use of FASTPASS machines (which have since been removed). The attraction is the same boat voyage through many regions of the world, though the main theme song is not played fully. Instead, the children sing “Jingle Bells” and a bridge of “Deck the Halls” in addition to the main theme. The holiday overlay has since been implemented at Tokyo Disneyland with similar decorations, if not more, than the Disneyland version. From now on the Disney characters and The Spirit of America room (formerly the covered transition room) are joining in the “it’s a small world – happy holiday” at Disneyland. Disneyland Paris’s version used to add subtle decorations around the attraction and changed the music in the North American area to “Deck The Halls”. For the 2009 winter season, Disneyland Paris has added “it’s a small world celebration”, a variation of “it’s a small world – happy holiday” highlighting winter season frolic shared by people worldwide. It includes new costumes, lighting, sounds, decorations and uses the Disneyland (California) version “it’s a small world holiday” music – Jingle Bells …

Originally envisioned in the late 1950s as a walk-through wax museum featuring pirates from history, the attraction evolved into a boat ride through complex show scenes filled with Audio-Animatronics characters after the 1964 New York World’s Fair, which brought about several advances in Disney’s theme park technologies. Instead, humorous sketches of fictional pirates by Imagineer Marc Davis inspired the animatronic diorama seen throughout the final attraction. Opening on March 18, 1967, Pirates of the Caribbean was Disneyland’s largest Audio-Animatronics project to date and was the last attraction Walt Disney was involved in designing. The portrait of the female pirate above the bar in the Crews Quarters scene is an original work by Davis. The pirate captain in the scene where captured women are auctioned as brides is a test bed for updates and developments to Audio-Animatronics technology; many innovations are tried on him first. As a result, his movements are far more lifelike and expressive than virtually any other Audio-Animatronics figure in all of Disneyland.disneyland disneyland disneyland disney’s california adventure disney’s california adventure adventureland tomorrowland fantasyland toontown magic kingdom animal epcot frontierland vintage retired yesterland old home movies great moments lincoln main street usa cinema star tours space mountain honey i shrunk the audience captain eo peoplemover mission to mars america sings innoventions skyway autopia carousel …

Captain EO is a 3-D film starring Michael Jackson and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (who came up with the name, “Captain EO”, (from the Greek, cf. “Eos”, the Greek goddess of dawn) that was shown at Disney theme parks from 1986 through the 1990s. The attraction returned to the Disney theme parks in 2010. The film’s executive producer was George Lucas. The film was choreographed by Jeffrey Hornaday and Michael Jackson, photographed by Peter Anderson, produced by Rusty Lemorande, and written by Lemorande, Lucas and Coppola, from a story idea by the artists of Walt Disney Imagineering. Lemorande also initially designed and created two of the creatures, and was an uncredited editor of the film. The score was written by James Horner, and featured two songs (“We Are Here to Change the World” and “Another Part of Me”), both written and performed by Michael Jackson. The Supreme Leader was played by Anjelica Huston. Cinematographer Vittorio Storaro was the Lighting Director during much of the principal photography. Captain EO is regarded as one of the first “4-D” films (4-D being the name given to a 3-D film which incorporates in-theater effects, such as lasers, smoke, etc., frame synced to the film narrative).[2] This innovation was suggested by producer-writer Lemorande who is, therefore, sometimes referred to as “The Father of 4-D.”Captain EO made full use of its 3-D effects. Subscribe for CONSTANT updates! Ride Space Mountain as it would have appeared before the major rehab for the 50th celebration. Ride shot with night vision. Space Mountain opened in 1977, invigorating a decade-old Tomorrowland as Disneyland’s second roller coaster. The idea for Anaheim’s ride originated in the mid 1960s, during Walt Disney’s lifetime, as a way to energize the aging Tomorrowland. The project was shelved until the success of Space Mountain in Florida. After two years of construction, the million complex opened May 27 including the roller coaster, 1100-seat Space Stage, 670-seat Space Place (fast food restaurant) and Starcade.[2] Six Mercury astronauts attended Space Mountain’s opening — Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, Sen. John Glenn, Wally Schirra, Alan Shepard, and Deke Slayton.[1] Largely due in part to the opening of Space Mountain, the Memorial Day day attendance record was set, with 185500 guests over the three-day period.[2] Space Mountain at Disneyland was designed by Bill Watkins of Walt Disney Imagineering. It was different from the WDW design because of space limitations. The attraction continued operating without much change: sponsors would come and go, and various minor changes, including the addition of a “Speedramp” (moving sidewalk) in the entrance, happened without fanfare. In 1995, FedEx became the official sponsor for the ride, sparking a number of significant alterations. The queue area was revamped with television monitors looping …

After the death of Michael Jackson on June 25, 2009, Captain EO regained popularity on the Internet. For several years, a small group of fans had petitioned Disney to bring back the attraction and Jackson’s death had brought this campaign to a peak. Soon afterward, Disney officials were seen in Disneyland at the Magic Eye Theater and reportedly held a private screening of Captain EO to determine if it could be shown again. It was rumored that Disneyland would announce the return of the attraction at Disneyland in September.[citation needed] However, on September 10, Disney CEO Bob Iger said, “There aren’t plans to bring back Captain EO at this time … We are looking at it. It’s the kind of thing that, if we did it, would get a fair amount of attention and we’d want to make sure we do it right.”[7] On December 18, 2009, it was announced that Captain EO would return to Tomorrowland at Disneyland beginning in February 2010. Social and Print Media Manager Heather Hust Rivera from Disneyland Resorts confirmed this on the DisneyParks Blog and stated that Honey, I Shrunk the Audience! would be closing. The attraction hosted its final public showing in the Magic Eye Theater at midnight on January 4, 2010 to make way for the Michael Jackson film’s return. The attraction, now entitled Captain EO Tribute, re-opened at Disneyland Park on February 23, 2010.[8] The attraction returned to Discoveryland at Disneyland Park (Paris) on June 12, 2010, returned to Epcot at Walt Disney World …

Here’s me in the “Astro Orbitor” ride in Tomorrowland inside Disneyland. Oh well, it’s just a video of the not so scary ride that at least gave a good view of the surrounding attractions. =) Anaheim, California USA Nov. 18, 2008
This is my Disneyland Vacation Video. I bet there are people out there who like the different signs in front of Disneyland like I do, here is one in 1992. We see and go thru the parking lot which is now Disney’s California Adventure, thats neat. We get are tickets and see how much they were back in 1992. We go see Goofy and Roger Rabbit on Main Street USA and ride the horse Trolly up Main Street then go to Critter Country and see Bear Country Jamboree. Go to tomorrowland and board Star Tours and then go to Fantasyland and board It’s a Small World, and see a bit of the World According to Goofy Parade. We take the horse trolly back down Main Street while the Dapper Dans are crooning music to us from them sitting or standing in back of the Trolly. Minnie Mouse posing with children and a Disneyland band playing on Main Street. See you all at Disneyland!
